Second Chances
Mud and water quietly lure them
To a playground filled with grime;
In their clothes so clean and tidy
They’ve no concept of their crime.
Hands and feet are busy playing;
Contagious laughter fills the air.
In their moment of such pleasure,
Kids ignore the word “Beware!”
Parents clamor for their children,
Intervening in their fun;
Cleaning every hair and skin fold
By the time their task is done.
Worldly vices quietly lure us
To a lifestyle filled with grime;
In our moments of such weakness
We’ve no thought about such crime.
Satan tries to subtly give us
The desire to join his side,
As he drags us ever deeper
In that cycle we call pride.
But we are linked to heaven
With prayer and iron rod,
And with great determination
We’ll wash clean and live with God.
